In a joint press conference with trade unions held at the Lebanese American University LAU, the "Lebanon Universities Association" announced that it has filed an appeal before the Council of State Council entitled "Review of heroes for exceeding the limit of authority (with a request of ceasefire)" against the decisions of the resigned Finance Minister in the Business Government to impose taxes on salaries Professors and staff at the universities charge them with US dollars. The association saw that these decisions are ill-educated and lacking legitimacy, causing the migration of elite teachers and staff. She announced her determination to face this decision reaffirming her confidence in the State Council and its decisions, and the Association stressed that the universities will continue their academic career, the care of their medical institutions and the service of citizens and students despite all difficulties.
